Merry Christmas at Gauribidanur

Christmas is a season of love, generosity, and togetherness. Inspired by the charism of St. Luigi Orione, who tirelessly reminded the Church that “Charity alone will save the world” Orione Seva, the charitable arm of the Sons of Divine Providence, continues this mission by translating faith into concrete acts of love, especially towards the poor, the vulnerable, and those on the margins of society.

This Christmas in Gauribidanur, Orione Seva joyfully shared gifts and food with nearly 220 people, reaching families and tutions-center students from Hampsandara, Dodda Malluru, Shambukanagar, H. Colony, and Dayanketyan students. The celebration was a living witness to Gospel charity, reminding us that caring and sharing lie at the heart of Christmas. It reflected Don Orione’s vision of a Church that reaches out with open arms and a compassionate heart, a Church where charity is lived joyfully and without limits.

Together with volunteers, staffs, local authorities and benefactors, this initiative reflected a spirit of unity, service, and joyful giving—tio festivity became solidarity and generosity became mission. Their initiative, leadership, and collaboration with the religious community highlighted the beauty of co-responsibility in mission, where clergy, consecrated persons, and lay faithful walk together. As St. Paul writes, “We are God’s co-workers” (1 Corinthians 3:9). “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). This Christmas, Orione Seva invites everyone to celebrate the joy of giving and the hope it brings to many lives.
