Republic Day: Celebrating the Spirit of the Constitution through Service and Inclusion

On 26 January 2026, the spirit of India’s Republic Day was celebrated with deep reverence and joy at Chandanadur, Gauribidanur, under the initiative of Orione Seva. The celebration beautifully reflected the true meaning of the Republic—equality, dignity, and participation for all, especially for those often on the margins of society.

The programme began with a respectful tribute to the architects of the Indian Constitution and national leaders. Floral garlands were offered to the portraits of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi, acknowledging their timeless contribution to justice, equality, and non-violence.This moment reminded everyone present that the Constitution is not merely a legal document, but a moral guide that calls us to uphold human dignity in everyday life.

The Republic Day celebration was marked by the active participation of residents, caregivers, staff, and well-wishers. The gathering reflected unity beyond differences of ability, background, or circumstance—living testimony to the constitutional value of fraternity.

A shared refreshment session followed, where participants sat together and enjoyed traditional sweets. This simple yet powerful act symbolised togetherness and belonging, reinforcing the idea that celebration is most meaningful when shared equally.

At Orione Seva, Republic Day is not limited to ceremonial observance. It is a reminder of our commitment to service, especially to persons with intellectual and developmental challenges. The Constitution of India envisions a society where every individual is valued—and this vision finds expression in daily acts of care, inclusion, and compassion.
